It is well aware that Maniratnam had roped in Maheshbabu for his forthcoming bilingual film. The title of the Tamil version was finalised some time ago as ‘Ponniyan Selvan’. Now, it is learnt that Telugu version title was also confirmed as ‘Veerudu’.

Tamil heroes Vijay and Arya are co-starring with Maheshbabu and Anushka is donning the character of Maheshbabu’s younger sister and cast opposite Vijay. It is a periodical film and Maheshbabu is playing the role of Uttama Cholan. It is yet to be decided as to who would play opposite Maheshbabu and it is learnt that Maniratnam is looking for a Bollywood beauty for the role.

Kalanidhi Maran is producing the film on the banner of Sun Pictures and Illayaraja is scoring music. The director presently busy with pre-production activities like selection of locales for the movie. Maheshbabu is presently busy with ‘Dookudu’ and hence the film may start rolling in June.
